What’s happening this weekend in Porto?! AtWill tells you everything!
The May edition of the Flea Market was originally scheduled for Passeio Alegre, but due to the possibility scheduled for May 13, it was moved to the Silo Auto car park.
So, between 14 and 19 hours next Saturday, about 200 vendors will export second-hand items on the top floor of the building: clothes, nightclubs, books, tableware, lace, towels, toys, stamps, coins, among many others. Access, as always, will be free. Food trucks will be present so stop by and try the famous Bolas de Berlim of Bolas da Praia and the delicacies from Comida de Rua.
Don’t forget: “One men’s garbage is another men’s gold!”
Ultra Funk is the new EP by the self-taught Porto artist Eden Lewis II, winner of the 2016 edition of the Thermometer Festival. Love, sexuality and a look at society sprinkle the seven themes chosen for the EP. In 2017 he will perform in several festivals, including NOS Alive, Paredes de Coura and Bons Sons. Among the influences of Eden Lewis II are names like Prince, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson or D’Angelo. This weekend, on Saturday, head to Casa da Músca to listen to some good music!
The popular saint’s traditions starts with Senhor de Matosinhos. Like the Saint John’s party in June (but not so known and big) this is a high point of the popular festivities of northern Portugal! The party extends for four weeks of religious festivities, both recreational and cultural activities. This year the party is from May 12th to June 11th. The municipal holiday is on June 6th and the big night of fireworks is on June 3rd.
The programming is vast and diverse. During this period Matosinhos has festival, music, has fireworks, has handicraft and dishware fair, has carousels, conventual sweets, bread with chorizo and smell of roasted sardines.
Matosinhos has religion, devotion, culture, literature, has the altars of the church of the Lord of Matosinhos all decorated and beautiful. It’s a party you should not miss if you are around Porto for the next month! Check the program here!
The third arts fair is back this Saturday at Maus Hábitos! In this multi-cultural icon space of Porto you will, once again, be able to find photography, painting, drawing, illustration, ceramics, prints, zines and more! Tickets cost 5€.
Don’t forget we can always accompany you to some of these events at the same time you do a B Side Porto Tour! That way you can really experience what locals do at weekends in Porto!
